Four women and a vision.

In 1897 at State Female Normal School in Farmville, Virginia, four women forever forged their friendship by creating the sisterhood we know today as Kappa Delta. Now, 125 years later, Kappa Delta has 168 collegiate chapters and over 200 active alumnae chapters filled with inspiring, confident women. When you join Kappa Delta, you join a network of friendship, leadership, confidence and action.

It’s #WHYKDWEDNESDAY! Hear from Gray Ficken McKain (Beta Zeta-South Carolina, who joined in 1993) and her daughter Maggie McKain (Beta Zeta-South Carolina, who joined in 2022) about why they joined Kappa Delta!

From Gray: “I went KD because I felt right at home and knew immediately it was the place for me! I’m so thankful for the lifelong friends I made. I don’t know what I’d do without them now. Watching Maggie go KD and find her best friends has been such an amazing experience for me and makes it all the more special!”

From Maggie: “I tried to go into recruitment with a totally open mind despite my mom being a KD, but in the end, it was really where I just felt the most comfortable. My mom is such a big inspiration to me and being sisters is such an amazing experience that I wouldn’t trade for anything. I can’t imagine being anywhere else!” 💚
