MOSS FUNERAL HOME, Breese, Ill. Catherine Siegmann Sister Rose (Margaret Rose) Schrage, ASC, 86, of the Adorers of the Blood of Christ, Ruma Center, Ru- ma, passed away Sat- urday, November 14, 2015, at 11:50 a.m. at the Ruma Convent. She was born to the late Bernard and Mary, nee Goestenkors, Schrage in St. Rose, on December 31, 1928.

She made her first vows as an Adorer of the Blood of Christ on July 1, 1948, and perpetual profession on July 1, 1953. Sr. Rose served in ele- mentary schools for 29 years, including SS. Peter and Paul in Waterloo, St. Elizabeth in East St.

Louis, St. Bruno in Pinckneyville, Holy Family in Cahokia, St. Boniface in Evansville, St. Joseph in Olney, and St. Matthew in Alton, Ill.

She taught at St. Je- rome in St. Louis, and Visitation in Vienna, Mo. She served as principal as well as teacher for 13 years. After her elemen- tary school ministry, she served as a Houseparent at Catholic Home in Alton, Ill.

Sr. Rose later served as assistant, then Executive Housekeeper as well as assistant to the administrator at DeMattias Hall, the house of studies near Saint Louis University. Her final 11 years in active ministry were spent as housekeep- ing and laundry supervisor in the Environmental Ser- vices Department at Naza- reth Living Center in St. Louis, Mo. Sr.

Rose earned her degree in histo- ry at St. Louis University in 1967, and her in American History, also from SLU, in 1975. In a seminar on Religious Life held in Jefferson City, in 1965, she served as one of the discussion group leaders. She was preceded in death by her parents; five brothers, Ferdinand, Os- car, Edgar, Bernard, Jr. and Cletus; a sister, Marie; and three sisters-in-law, Ruth, Catherine and Theresa.

Surviving are a brother, James (Sandy) Schrage; and many nieces, neph- ews, and Members of the Adorers of the Blood of Christ. He was retired Granite City fireman, and a drafts- man for HBE Corporation, St.

Louis, Mo. Harold was a Korean Navy Veteran. He was a member of the Granite City AM- VETS; and the Knights of Columbus 1098. He played on the state cham- pionship baseball team, and was a member of the Granite City High School Sports Hall of Fame. He was a wrestler at SIUC and the University of Oklahao- ma.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Vin- cent and Victoria, nee Coleman, Portell; four sisters; four brothers; and a daughter-in-law, Rene Portell.
