Hello SAP Community members!
For my first blogpost, I am glad that I can bring to you the newest updates related to SAP PaPM Cloud Standard Model for the month of May.

Without further ado let’s dive into the newest enhancements of SAP PaPM Cloud.
Show Screen
During data upload in the Show screen, there are times that user wants to add an empty or blank value in a master data field which was not possible before.
To accommodate users for such edge case scenarios during data upload, the Show screen has introduced a new feature wherein adding empty value or uploading a data in a field with enabled master data is now possible.
Scenario 1: Uploading file with master data field with empty/blank value
In the Show screen, uploading of file with master data with empty/blank value will be accepted and will not trigger any validations.
Input Data:
Scenario 2: Updating master data value to blank value
In the Show screen, the user will now have an option to change a master data value to blank value by choosing <blank value> from the dropdown option.
Scenario 3: Adding a new row
When adding a new row, the user will now have an option to explicitly add a new row with blank values in a master data field without choosing <blank value> from the dropdown option.
Scenario 4: Copying a row
The user will now have an option to explicitly change values in a master data field with empty values by choosing <blank value> from the dropdown option when copying a row.
Note: Blank or empty values will not trigger any validations during data upload and creation of a new row.
Download the CSV & Excel data with proper column titles
Column titles are now becoming more handy and timesaving as the users do not need to edit anymore the title of the columns when downloading CSV and Excel files. Previously the column titles only offered “Field Description only” and “Field ID & description”. With the new implementation, the user has the option to download the CSV and Excel files with “Field ID only” as the column title.
Process Management Screen
The new enhancement in the Process Management screen is related to data slice locking functionality. When the user is trying to perform data slice locking that is already locked, the message logs will tell the user that the action is ‘Failed to apply data lock.’ To see the specific error message, the user still needs to expand the message logs.
With the enhancement, the user doesn’t need to expand the message logs any more to see the specific details. This will at least save time for the user to understand why the action of data slice locking failed.
Having the update mentioned above, it is still working the same as we had before. If in any case you are not yet familiar with Data slice locking, please refer to SAP PaPM Cloud: What’s New as of 2022-12-19? under Process Management screen section.
Report Management Screen
PaPM offers Chinese font
We are pleased to inform you that we have added a new font style. Microsoft Yahei and SimSun were added to the list in the Report Management screen.
Content Management Screen
Previously in SAP PaPM Cloud Standard Model, we were able to import an environment while another user is making changes to it. To avoid the risk of damaging the work of others, we are glad to introduce to you the Environment locking during Import mechanism. This locking mechanism is now implemented in Modeling screen, while overwrite import is ongoing in Content Management screen.
The locking mechanism works in two ways:
- If User A is currently importing the environment with the overwrite environment set to “yes” and User B wants to access the Modeling screen of the ongoing overwrite import environment. A pop-up message will pop-up on User B (image below)
- If User A is currently in the Modeling screen and making some changes, then User B started importing the environment which is currently working on by User A. Once User A saves the changes, that user will encounter a message (image below)
I hope that you have found this blogpost interesting and insightful to the new features in SAP PaPM Cloud Standard Model.
Thank you and stay tuned for the future What's New series!
