Dozens of people attended in person and via Zoom to discuss data-related challenges their organizations are facing and how we all can work together to address those challenges. We were thrilled to play a small role in St. Louis Black Authors of Children's Literature's fantastic event yesterday featuring author Idris Goodwin and illustrator Lorraine Nam. They talked about Goodwin's book "Your House is Not Just A House," illustrated by Nam. There were hundreds of elementary students there, cheering and asking creative questions. Goodwin and Nam, along with Julius B Anthony, provided fantastic insight on the writing process and how to cultivate your imagination whether you're a child or an adult.#author #illustrator #childrensliterature #childrensbooks #authorevent #bookreading

“We are just excited because young people are the ones to start any initiative," Girls Inc. President and CEO Cheryl Jones said. "We need to engage them in the voting process and not wait until they are older. It’s important to not slide into it, but to really know it and understand it. You can’t think ‘my vote doesn’t matter.’ People died for this.”It's amazing to see young people registering to vote and taking this important step to shaping their future. More than 50 girls took part in this voter education program, and 10 young women who were at least 17 1/2 registered to vote. Network staff, friends and dogs had a great time Saturday at Laura’s Run 4 Kids, benefitting Network member The Little Bit Foundation. The event, hosted by KMOV-TV’s Laura Hettiger, is an annual tradition for hundreds of families, businesses and others across the community. It was a beautiful day in Tower Grove Park and we even walked over to the farmer's market together after the race!
